Graduation rehearsal for the seniors is at 10:00 am on Friday.  This is mandatory for all seniors that are participating in the graduation ceremony on Friday evening.  Seniors will need to report Friday evening at 7:00 pm to the library.  Please make sure they are in the proper attire for graduation when they report. Parents: Dont forget about the reception in the cafeteria following the graduation ceremony.  This will also be the place that students can pick up their actual diplomas and scholarship information.

Summer school will begin on June 4th and last until June 28th.  Those students not meeting level 2 performance on their EOC test will need to attend summer school.  The testing schedule for the EOC retest is still not determined.  We believe they will be sometime in July. We have scores but do not have their individual sheets at this time.  We will be mailing those out as soon as we receive them.  You will receive a letter in the mail if your child will need to attend.  It will be from 8:00 am – 12:00pm.  We will also be offering credit recovery for students who failed a core class this year.  If your child does not come to summer school, they will be re-enrolled in that class next year.  If you would like to know your students scores before we are able to mail them to you, you may call the office at 675-1845.

Best wishes go out to Julianne Hodges who will be competing in two state academic events on May 21st of this week.  A big thanks goes out to Mrs. Winter for coaching Julianne this year.

Senior week:  The parents will be serving lunch on Monday and Wednesday of this week.  They will also serve breakfast on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  The seniors will dig up their time capsule on Wednesday and then go to the West pool for a day of swimming.  

Seniors: Baccalaureate is Sunday the 26th.  You need to wear your gown.  You do not need to wear your cap.  You should report to Trinity Lutheran Church no later than 6:45 on Sunday.  This is not mandatory. Senior Project presentations are May 25th.  Seniors taking HS English must complete this project to meet requirements of graduation.

We will be participating in Generation Texas Week next Monday.  We will have a school-wide assembly that will address being prepared for college.

Attendance must be cleared up today to be eligible for final exemptions.

Senior Project Presentations 

I would like to say a big thank you to John Erickson and Jan Woosley for their time, dedication and commitment to CISD while serving on the board. I would also like to welcome our new board members Alex Montes and Julie New.

Junior and Senior Parents:  Make sure if your student is enrolled in a regular jr./sr English class that they have turned in their research paper or senior project notebook.  These are both necessary to pass these classes. Senior Project presentations will be May 25th.  This is required as part of their project.

Senior Parents:  Guessing jars are due this week.  These need to be ready for display during senior week. Next week is Senior week.  Please contact Lori Culp @ 675-1885 or 253-0240 if you would like help with this week.  They still need lots of food donations and people to help during this week.

Freshman and Sophomore Parents:  End-of Course test are this week.  They will take place Tuesday-Thursday.  It is very important for your kids to be here on time and well rested.  Make sure they eat breakfast each morning.

Athletic banquet is tonight.  Tickets are on sale in the office today.  They are $10 each.  Your athlete’s ticket is paid for by the Booster club.

FFA Banquet is this Thursday @ 6:30 in the hs cafeteria.

Progress reports will be handed out on Wednesday of this week.  Please check your child’s grades.  This is the six weeks that students have a tendency to let their guard down and grades slip very quickly.  This could make the difference in getting credit in a class or having to retake the entire year over again.

Fines and missing equipment:  All fines and missing equipment and books must be taken care of by the end of the year for your child to be in good standing.

 The time is drawing near for final orders for Clifton ISD’s yearbook, The Old Mill. We will be honoring the students who competed or worked the UIL academic meet on this Thursday.  We will go to the movies and hand out awards from the competition.

Freshman and Sophomores will be taking the End-of-Course Exams next week.  It is extremely important that they are here on Tuesday-Thursday of next week.  The test will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. each day.

Please help us to help your child to stay focused the last few weeks.  We are seeing many of them want to shut down and not do their work.  There is no time at the end of the six weeks to “make-up” work.
