Summer Conditioning Program

We will be having our summer conditioning program again this summer at the high school field house. It is open to all Clifton ISD students in grades 7-12. This is a good chance for you to stay in shape over the summer and come into our fall sports in good shape and ready to go. Our coaches will run you through pre-set workouts designed to get you stronger, faster, and improve your footwork. The session times are listed below. If you have any questions about it just ask. Attendance is not mandatory.

Grades: incoming 7^th-12^th grade boys and girls

Cost: FREE!!

Dates: Monday thru Thursday each week starting June 17th and ending July 25th

Times:

Incoming 9^th-12 boys: 8:30-10:00 a.m.

Incoming 9^th -12 girls: 8:30-10:00 a.m. (workouts will be separate from boys)

Incoming 7^th-8^th boys/girls 10:30-11:30 a.m. (workouts will be separate from boys)

Boys and Girls Basketball Camp

Incoming 3^rd-9^th grades 1:00-4:00

The Clifton coaching staff will host a fundamental basketball camp. This camp will be open for both boys and girls.

Individual drills will be taught. Competitions and games will be played so that each player will get the most out of the camp experience. Most importantly the kids will have fun learning and playing the game of basketball! Cost of the camp is $40. Each additional child from the same immediate family is $20.

Each camper will receive a Clifton Cub basketball camp shirt!!!!

Summer School Information

Clifton Middle School students attending summer school will begin on Monday, June 3rd at 8:00 a.m. Classes will be held each day from 8:00 a.m. until 11:55 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to students at no cost. Breakfast will be served at 7: 30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. All meals will be served at the Elementary School cafeteria. Middle school students participating in meal service will begin and end their day at Clifton Elementary.

Students not participating in meal service may be dropped off and picked up at Clifton Middle School.

The following bus stops will serve summer school participants:

Holly Burgers in Laguna Park-bus pick up between 6:55-7:05 a.m. and return for drop off between 1:05-1:15 p.m.

Laguna Park Community Center-bus pick up between 7:10-7:20 a.m. and return for drop off between 12:50-1:oo p.m.

The Clifton Middle School Awards Assembly will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 10:45 a.m. in the cafeteria. All parents and guardians are invited and encouraged to attend.

Thursday, May 30th is the last day of the regular school year for 2012-13 and is an early release day, ending at 1:00 p.m.

Middle School STAAR Test results

We have received all student results from the STAAR Test administrations held on April 23-25, 2013. Each student will receive a sealed envelope this afternoon containing Confidential Student Reports, along with an explanation of the Report. Students not meeting the required minimum standard on any STAAR test will also receive information on an extended summer session being offered by Clifton Middle School.

We have not yet received results on the 8th grade Math and Reading retests administered on May 14th and 15th. We are scheduled to receive those results on June 3rd, 2013.

Final Exam Schedule

Final Exams for all Clifton Middle School students will begin on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013. Clifton Middle School Course Requests for 2013-14

As the end of the school year approaches and we begin to plan for next year, students will be asked to complete information on elective classes they are interested in taking next year along with the required classes assigned to each grade level. These course requests will be completed online at school this week. Incoming 6th graders will complete the process on Thursday, May 23rd at their campus. Incoming 7th graders will complete the process on Thursday, May 23rd and incoming 8th graders will complete the process on Friday, May 24th.

Students are allowed to choose any elective listed for their respective grade level but, due to class size restrictions, remediation needs and/or program restrictions, are not guaranteed to be enrolled in each elective chosen. I have attached a list of classes, both elective and required, for each grade level. Please discuss the possibilities with your child(ren) and help them prepare for making their course requests Thursday or Friday. You may access the list of classes with the following link:
